CSR

At Martello we believe we need to be increasingly aware of the social and environmental impact of the way we conduct our business and the way we interact with the wider world. Our core values embracing the principles of reliability, accountability and transparency are at the heart of the way we interact with people and the environment.

We believe in ethical behaviour that:

  • Contributes to sustainable development, including the health and welfare of society;
  • Acknowledges the expectations of stakeholders and customers;
  • Complies with applicable laws and is consistent with international norms;
  • Applies to the entire organization and is reflected in relationships with external stakeholders.

PEOPLE

Wellbeing:

The wellbeing and health of our own team is important to us and our employees benefit from a 24 hour private healthcare & wellbeing service. It’s equally important that our workplace services take your staffs wellbeing seriously. At Martello we use 7 key themes as our guiding light in ensuring we remain true to our purpose of enhancing the lives and giving peace of mind to the people and organisations we touch.

These 7 key themes form the framework of our approach to wellbeing:

Wellbeing

Ethics:

Martello expects and demands that each of its business units, all its employees, and its Directors carry out their business and perform their duties to the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all relevant legal principles. This standard of behaviour and performance is maintained in the company’s dealings with employees, customers, suppliers, and all other stakeholders.

Labour & Human Rights:

Martello does not tolerate discrimination or harassment under any circumstances including relating to gender, age, race, disability, culture, religion or ethnicity. We will seek only to work with suppliers who comply with, or exceed the minimum requirement of, current employment legislation.

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that our supply chain does not engage in activities that compromise fundamental freedoms including forced or compulsory labour and child labour and we will not engage in business contracts with supply chain partners who cannot commit to upholding these standards.

Environment

We increasingly recognise the importance of environmental protection and are committed to operating our businesses responsibly and in compliance with laws relating to the provision of our companies’ services. We believe in exceeding requirements and maintaining good relations with all regulatory bodies, continually striving to improve our environmental performance and reduce our carbon footprint.

Sustainable Procurement

Martello are committed to using supply chain partners that are aligned with our own ethos and values. We believe in meeting our customers’ requirements via the value for money sourcing of materials, products and services whilst considering carefully the environmental, economic, social, and ethical impacts of our procurement decisions over the whole product or service life cycle. We encourage continuous supply chain innovation as a way to progressively and sustainably improve the long-term efficiency of our deliverables.
